Accreditations
The University of Cincinnati carries institutional accreditation and the Master of Education in Educational Leadership online degree carries programmatic accreditation.
Regional Accreditation
The University of Cincinnati is regionally accredited by the Higher Learning Commission (HLC). Regional accreditation is the primary type of institutional accreditation used in the United States. Some institutions with online Master of Education in Educational Leadership programs hold national accreditation rather than regional accreditation because they are unwilling or unable to meet the rigorous standards of regional accreditation. Prospective students must be aware that many educational institutions holding regional accreditation do not recognize credits or degrees earned at institutions that are nationally accredited. Therefore, regional accreditation may be important for transferring from one institution to another partway through a degree program, or pursuing additional degrees at different colleges. The North Central Association of Schools and Colleges (NCA)*, are recognized by both the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) and the United States Department of Education (USDE).
NCATE Accredited Online Program
The online Educational Leadership program is accredited by the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE)†, and meets the rigorous standards for the preparation of administrators approved by the Interstate School Leaders Licensure Consortium (ISLLC). With us, you can expect a quality online masters degree in education that will prepare you for future success.
CCNE Accredited Online Program
The College of Nursing is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).* In 1998, UC launched its on-campus Nurse Midwifery program, which is accredited by the ACNM Accreditation Commission for Midwifery Education (formerly ACNM Division of Accreditation).† Graduates are eligible for the American Midwifery Certification Board, Inc. (AMCB,Inc.) certification exam.** UC has a dedicated Women’s Health faculty and enjoys a 100% first-time pass rate on the National Certification Corp. (NCC, Inc)‡ exam for its Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner graduates.
