EKU Master's Degrees
Eastern Kentucky University offers master’s degrees in Safety and Security Management with concentrations in Homeland Security, Occupational Safety, Fire & Emergency Services, and Ergonomics.
The program curriculum is designed to provide students with a broad background in safety, security and emergency management, plus the option of more in-depth knowledge of one specific area through thesis research or electives.

As a student in the Master of Science in Safety, Security & Emergency Management program, you will be able to choose a “Multidisciplinary” track where you will select your support courses from a variety of subject areas.

The Fire & Emergency Services Concentration provides students with the strategic planning and leadership skills necessary to develop tactical plans for fire and emergency services within an organization.

The Ergonomics Concentration curriculum addresses appropriate risk factors, current regulatory requirements, as well as policy development, effective ergonomic management techniques and occupational safety program development.

The Homeland Security Concentration and Certificate programs were designed to meet the demands and challenges of the real world and its ever-changing threats to the security of the nation.

The Occupational Safety Concentration and Certificate programs develop the critical management skills required by engineers, occupational safety and loss prevention personnel involved in risk management and occupational safety.
