Masters in Fire & Emergency Services
Eastern Kentucky University has developed a Fire & Emergency Services concentration within the Master of Science in Safety, Security & Emergency Management degree program to provide you with the opportunity to gain in-depth knowledge of fire safety/protection and to enhance your overall skills in this field. In addition, EKU will be offering a Fire & Emergency Services certificate which can be completed independently of the degree program. Should you decide you would like to continue your education after completing the certificate, the credits you earn can be transferred over and applied to the Master’s degree program.
Fire & Safety faculty members are recognized nationally and internationally for their teaching, research, and dedication to the fire and safety fields. They are active in numerous professional fire organizations such as the National Association of Fire Investigators, National Fire Protection Association, International Association of Fire Chiefs, and the International Society of Fire Service Instructors. As a student in this program, you will have the opportunity to learn from some of the very best in this field.
The Fire & Emergency Services Degree & Certificate is Designed to:
- Provide students with the strategic planning and leadership skills necessary to develop tactical plans for fire and emergency services within an organization.
- Prepare graduates to manage and direct fire departments, fire prevention services, search and rescue services, fire inspection and investigation offices, etc.
