Masters in Ergonomics
Many occupational therapists and safety management professionals are specializing in the field of Ergonomics. Ergonomic insight can be applied to almost every industry including health care, IT, safety and transportation. Ergonomics has recently been named one of the top ten emerging practice areas. Eastern Kentucky University has expanded its popular Ergonomics courses offered in the Master of Science in Safety, Security and Emergency Management Program into a separate concentration and certificate to meet the needs of this emerging field. Should you decide you would like to continue your education after completing the certificate, the credits you earn can be transferred over and applied to the Master’s degree program.
The Ergonomics Degree & Certificate is Designed to:
- Provide students with the knowledge and skills necessary to succeed in a high-level Ergonomics position.
- Educate students on the many aspects and disciplines of Ergonomics. This program will address appropriate risk factors, current regulatory requirements as well as policy development, effective Ergonomic management techniques and occupational safety program development to ensure a safe and healthful work environment for employees.
- Prepare graduates for employment in a variety of Ergonomic related positions. Our graduates have been hired as managers and directors by major organizations such as Ford Motor Company, Coca-Cola, General Electric, and the Marriott Corporation.
